Holy Crap, what did I just do?

I'm sure everyone has these, those lofty goals/timelines where one doesn't have to do much planning. Five minutes of internet searches and one has a reasonably good idea of where they want to be in the next year.
Medical school was my lofty goal. As for a timeline? Here's the game plan:
1.) Take college pre-reqs: year or two: 2009 should be done.
2.) Take MCAT: 2009ish? Possibly early because I so want to go to Peru for the summer.
3.) Apply to med school: Finish 1 & 2.

Number 1 is still on track. I'm enjoying my sweet time as a part time student and living off savings/working part time. I can do that, it's like reliving my undergraduate all over again but instead of playing games all day and hanging out with friends, I feel disconnected with all those young-ins and have replaced all that with Digg, reddit, and the bar.

This morning I re-evaluated item 2 and decided to go to the AAMC website (where you register for MCAT) and decided to check out the dates and availability. Sweet, they have some in March, April, and if I don't feel ready, August. Awesome, I won't have to look at this for at least another couple months. Availability? I have to register? Fine. I registered and checked out the availability for these test dates. Oooh, available for the dates. That's when the tick happened.

The tick - as I'll call it is that phenomenon when that slacker co-worker (you know, the one where you always wondered why anybody would hire this guy) shows his worth. This coworker transforms into a machine and starts cranking out work...say all of the year's requirements in two weeks. Unfortunately this kind of inspiration is unsustainable and most often unpredictable. It's like a muse for engineers.

So checking for dates and availability turned into me paying the $225 fee to take the test on April 24. Holy crap, what did I just do? I'm not even remotely prepped for this thing. I've kind of been half assing this MCAT prep book for the last month but nothing serious and now I've committed. Okay today is March 1. I have 53 days to prep. I need a schedule of what I'm going to do and a list of what I'll need to prep.

We'll see how long this tick lasts.
